Uluwatu

Uluwatu has changed a lot over the years, but it's still one of the best places in Bali - and the world!  It has retained its small-town, traditional atmosphere.  The locals are very proud, but still super friendly and accommodating. And the surf is world-class all year round.

The infamous breaks, the ‘cave’ and beach of ‘Uluwatu’ (known to locals as Pantai Suluban), is a 5-minute walk away and down some steps. Here you can find surf lifestyle services and shop, cafes (warungs) and bars. Rent a car or scooters or hire a taxi to visit nearby communities of Padang-Padang beach and Bingin, or explore the many surf breaks located along the Bukit Peninsula coastline.

The Area

On your doorstep there are several cafes and small shops. The best and healthiest in Uluwatu, ‘Land's End Café’, is located only 30 meters from the front gate. It’s a hot spot for breakfasts, lunch, coffees and smoothies..

The local village of Pecatu (pronounced peh-cha-too) is a 15-minute drive away and the small town of Ungasan is around 20-minutes away. Here you can find plenty of amenities such as ATM's, money exchanges, supermarkets and convenience stores.

Getting There

Ask taxi drivers to take you to Uluwatu Temple. At the temple turn right onto road Jalan Pantai Suluban, follow this road for 5-minutes. YOU ARE HERE when you reach Jalan Batu Jaran Hill. Near by landmarks are Land’s End Café, the Gong and Ulu Resto. We are approx 0.5km BEFORE Uluwatu Beach (Patai Suluban).

Uluwatu is located 45-minutes from Bali’s International Airport. Journey times can vary with traffic conditions. Coming from the airport, take the by-pass towards Nusa Dua and turn at MacDonald’s junction. Follow signs towards Uluwatu & GWK, and continuing up the hill on road ‘Jalan Raya Uluwatu’, passing through Ungasan town and Pectau village, until you reach Uluwatu Temple, where you turn right onto Jalan Pantai Suluban.
